Music is incredible. It can send so many sensations through you, set the mood, and help you calm down or get pumped up. It can change your entire day around and sometimes even evoke emotions that you didn't realize you were having.
I'm currently downloading some new tunes and it is interesting what each song strikes in your heart and brain.
Examples:
Young Blood - The Naked and Famous = makes me feel 19 again, with not much to worry about, about to head out to a party and to have a carefree night.
The Walker - Fitz and the Tantrums = (the time I almost went to a free concert of theirs and I didn't and I regret it) Lively, upbeat, don't deal with anyone's BS because it's never worth your time. Go out and kick some ass.
The Hills - The Weekend = the anxiety I feel when I ever start talking to a man and I'm not sure what his intentions are. Or what my intentions are. Or how devious they could be. Or how devious I can be. Sometimes the tables turn and you never know who's flipping it up.
Bloodstream - Stateless = like I'm standing in a room and a camera is slowly circling me, watching for the slightest movements, only to watch me stand in the same spot as the sunlight moves in and out of the windows and the apartment slowly changes around me.
Let The Drummer Kick - Citizen Cope = hardknock life, playing basketball on the courts, pushing yourself hard but not knowing if you'll go anywhere. Your dreams may be bigger than your reality but you never let that stop you.
Clearly, I'm on an alternative, retro kick right now. I also listen to Classical music, Frank Sinatra-esque, hip-hop, rap, a little R&B, some old country, a little Irish music, and whatever catches my fancy at the time.
Also, if you haven't heard of some of these artists, please crawl out from under your rock and listen to them!
